Cherry Run Camp will celebrate 147 Years at the 2009 encampment!
[July 25 through August 2, 2009]

Hello and welcome to the main lobby area of Cherry Run Camp web site. You will notice as you move further down in this area that doors have been installed which will lead you into certain areas of Cherry Run Camp. Clicking on a door will take you into the area which is identified by the name over the door. But just above the doors is a small picture which is a link to Cherry Run Reflections, an area where you can read some comments on different subjects related to our Christian faith and service to our Lord Jesus Christ.

The brochure for the 2008 camp session is still available. Details on the 2008 summer camp session which began on Saturday, July 26, and continued through Sunday, August 3, are available here by going to the door with "Cherry Run 2008" over it or you can click on Cherry Run 2008 and go to get all the facts. You can now download the actual pages of the 2008 brochure in .pdf format. You need Acrobat reader for this. A link is found in the area where you can get the brochure if needed for downloading Acrobat Reader which is free. NOTE: Workers and details for the 2009 camp session will be posted as they become available. For first time visitors, the 2008 brochure will give you a good picture as to how the camp functions, information on registering, schedules, etc. The 2009 schedule will likely follow the one listed for 2008.

NOTICE: Rates were increased for the first time in years as of the 2007 session of the camp -- please note the changes in registration information, but also note how you can avoid a penalty fee by getting your registration in early. Also, take time to read the rules and regulations -- there are some rules in place which all persons are expected to observe for the well being of the camp environment and good fellowship for all persons of all ages who are a part of the camp.

Because of problems of different kinds related to the Guestbook, changes have been made -- you can still leave a message, but it's different than before -- if you would like to check out the "new look" as explained by Theo, go to Cherry Run Guestbook Substitute!

Special Announcements!
A number of changes took place starting with the 2007 session of Cherry Run Camp:

  • First - There was a change in the bookstore management with Cathy Carmichael and Joanne Hosey taking over the bookstore. Recordings of the services have always been made available through the bookstore. As of the 2007 session there was one major change. Cassette tapes are no longer available for any of the services, this year or any previous year. Only CD's are now available. CD cost will be $5 each. Shipping costs will be: $5 for 1 to 5 CD's; $10 for 6 to 10 CD's. Please contact Joanne Hosey for ordering and/or information at hosey@alltel.net.

  • Second - Please check with bookstore management (Cathy Carmichael and/or Joanne Hosey) regarding used books and whether or not any more used books are being accepted, and whether the used book room is going to be continued. Joanne Hosey's email address is listed above if anyone wants to contact her about this matter.

  • Third - I (C. Harriger) was unable to attend Cherry Run during the 2008 session, so I am requesting that some who got pictures with a digital camera would be kind enough to forward some of those to me in a .jpg format by email -- my address is cdharriger@hotmail.com. I cannot guarantee that all will be posted, but I'll do the best I can with whatever may be sent. I especially would like pictures of the interior of the church pictures of "Gates of Jerusalem" theme for 2007 and pictures for 2008 if the church was used as in previous years. I also have a lot of updating to do with the adding of more photos from previous years. I ask for your patience in bearing with me on this.

Special Work Sessions!
Latest schedule is:

  • Saturday, August 23 "Habitat for Cherry Run" Work Day -- begins at 8:00 AM, or as soon as you can make it -- lunch will be provided for all workers. Your help will be appreciated very much.

  • Saturday, September 27 "Habitat for Cherry Run" Work Day -- begins at 8:00 AM, or as soon as you can make it -- lunch will be provided for all workers. Your help will be appreciated very much.

  • Dave Hrisak can be reached at his cell phone at 229-3558 for any questions relating to the scheduling of work days or weeks and what might be planned. You can also contact Jim Carmichael who always has a "list" of things to do -- so, come on down to the camp, and spend a day or even half a day, and help out with some of the projects on that "list."

Cherry Run Board Meeting at the camp on Saturday, October 4th, at 9:00 AM. All board members are urged to be present.

See Cherry Run Camp Needs and Deeds! -- see for yourself what needs exist and what deeds have already been done! One extremely urgent need is the total renovation of the sewerage treatment plant. This will involve a major expense. Your financial help is needed for this and other ongoing expenses of the camp.

Harry the Hammer here -- we've done some work over in the 60's area -- additional photos from the 60's have been posted plus a few from 1958 -- you can view them now at Memories from the 60's

Are you familiar with the Cherry Run Camp Rules and Regulations? Once in a blue moon or maybe a little more often a problem arises with a person pleading ignorance in regard to the rules -- this makes for an unpleasant camp experience not only for the person violating the rules, but for others as well -- don't be in the dark on this -- review them carefully at Cherry Run Camp Rules and Regulations -- if there are questions please contact cdharriger@hotmail.com.
