Cherry Run Camp Reflections!

The brochure for the 2008 camp session is still available. For first time visitors, details on the 2008 summer camp session which began on Saturday, July 26, and continued through Sunday, August 3, are available here by clicking on Cherry Run 2008 and go to get all the facts. You can now download the actual pages of the 2008 brochure in .pdf format. You need Acrobat reader for this. A link is found in the area where you can get the brochure if needed for downloading Acrobat Reader which is free. The brochure will provide all information regarding the camp such as workers' identification, schedules, registration info, costs, rules & regulations, etc. Remember, the camp can be scheduled for special events, weekend retreats, etc. For questions and/or scheduling, contact information is listed at bottom of the Main Lobby area.

Because of problems of different kinds related to the Guestbook, changes have been made -- you can still leave a message, but it's different than before -- if you would like to check out the "new look" as explained by Theo, go to Cherry Run Guestbook Substitute!

See Cherry Run Camp Needs and Deeds! -- see for yourself what needs exist and what deeds have already been done!

  • Saturday, September 27 "Habitat for Cherry Run" Work Day -- begins at 8:00 AM, or as soon as you can make it -- lunch will be provided for all workers. Your help will be appreciated very much.

  • Dave Hrisak can be reached at his cell phone at 229-3558 for any questions relating to the scheduling of work days or weeks and what might be planned. You can also contact Jim Carmichael who always has a "list" of things to do -- so, come on down to the camp, and spend a day or even half a day, and help out with some of the projects on that "list."

S P E C I A L A P P E A L --> The camp sessions and retreats have proved to be life changing experiences in the lives of persons of all ages. Many have testimonies as to what great things God has done -- if you are willing to do so, would you send a short testimony of your experience to the web servant, C.D. Harriger, at cdharriger@hotmail.com for inclusion in our testimony area? Let others know what Jesus Christ has done in your life and that will be a blessing and maybe an encouragement to someone who needs to be reminded that Jesus is our source of peace, comfort, and all-sufficient help!

Treasurer for Cherry Run Camp is Mr. Blake R. Reed, III. All donations given to Cherry Run Camp should be sent to him at 6442 Cherry Run Road, Parker PA 16049
[Make checks payable to: Cherry Run Camp Meeting Association]

Help Wanted! We need counselors to help with the youth for Cherry Run Camp each year. The annual camp always begins on the last Saturday of July and continues through 2 Sundays. Here is what sometimes happens:

  • Some offer to be counselors and are scheduled for the camp session, but an emergency takes place shortly before the camp preventing the counselor from participating.
  • Occasionally a counselor may back out at the last minute and so there is an urgent need to find a replacement. This is most difficult if the camp session is to begin within a matter of a few hours!
If interested and you can help, or you would be willing to be on a "standby" status, please contact Buster and Lisa Grabb at 724-588-2789 or write to them at 185 Sharon Road, Greenville, PA 16125. Counselors must have a personal experience in having accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and are seeking by God's grace to set an example as to what the Christian life is about before others. It is important that the counselors be scheduled quite some time before the camp sessions begin.

CD's of the following camp sessions are available:

Past Memories has been expanded and now includes Memories of 2002 and the Ray Reitz/Lee Karns Dormitory Project

The Hotel - Much improvement took place in the hotel with upper bedrooms being enlarged, rewiring being done, painting, curtains being installed, etc. Paul Mitchell and others worked many Tuesdays to do the renovations prior to the 2001 camp session. Thanks to Paul and those who helped him in this huge undertaking, and thanks also to all who donated lamps, stands, carpets, etc. to this project. And from Dave's Storage place came the combo refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves for the dorm rooms -- thanks to Dave Hrisak for these added amenities

Congratulations to Roy and Marge Daugherty
